"Happy Feet Clinic is a non-profit organization at UCLA dedicated to serving the homeless population of Los Angeles by providing free clinics focused on adequate foot care. At shelters around Los Angeles, including the Union Rescue Mission in downtown L.A., the Ocean Park Community Center in Santa Monica, the New Image Emergency Shelter in South LA, and PATH in Westwood, we treat hundreds of homeless people to a soothing foot wash in a tub of warm, soapy water and provide them with basic necessities such as clean pairs of socks and properly fitted shoes. We also work side by side with podiatrists and medical students as they administer foot exams for the homeless community."

What We Do

Usually twice a quarter, Happy Feet Clinic hosts foot clinics for the homeless throughout various shelters in Los Angeles, such as Skid Row and Santa Monica. During the clinics, undergraduate volunteers have the opportunity to provide our patients with a soothing foot wash at the Foot Washing Station. Undergraduate volunteers can also help fill out intake forms at the Intake Station or even assist our patients in picking out a free pair of sneakers at our Education Station. At these events, doctors and medical students from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine also join to aid the homeless community. As the doctors and medical students administer foot examinations, undergraduate volunteers can shadow the entire process. Happy Feet Clinic also hosts a variety of fun socials such as Fundraisers, Dorm Dinners, Bonfires, Trips to Westwood, Medical Q&As/Workshops, End of the Year Banquets, and more!
