We Bruins take pride in giving back and supporting our community. Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club. Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. The effort starts at the community level but knows no limits in its outreach. Rotaractors have access to the many resources of Rotary International (RI) and the Rotary Foundation. Rotary International provides the administrative support that helps Rotaract clubs thrive."
What We Do
Rotaract is a service based organization where you can develop leadership and professional skills, find a community within UCLA, and serve the LA area. Weekly meetings are held to discuss upcoming events, learn, and engage with one another. We provide a safe place to give back to our community and connect with others.
Previously, service events ranged from working with mentally and physically disabled children, cleaning up beaches/trails, cooking and serving food to the homeless, to reading to kids and much more. Social events like, pizookie Tuesday, beach bonfires, hikes, and dinner, have been a great opportunity to explore LA and get to know other members.
Despite holding events remotely, we are working to find new ways to support those in need. Some of our new events include writing pen pal letters to the elderly, mailing cards to hospitalized patients, and tutoring virtually.
Everyone is welcome in Rotaract! There is no application or time requirement. People can attend Wednesday meetings and be added to the mailing list to join at any point throughout the year. Sign up and check out UCLA Rotaract on social media for more information!
